- The Delhi High Court ordered the transfer after hearing a plea from Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali Angmo, ruling that treatment at a hospital of his choice upholds fundamental rights under Articles 19 and 21 of the Constitution.
- Admitted to ICU 8 under internal medicine specialist Dr. Sushila Kataria's supervision, Wangchuk was handed over to Medanta doctors at 6:40 pm per the court's order dated July 21, 2026.
