Israeli strikes in Gaza kill 3 children and 6 adults, health officials say

Israel claims strikes targeted Hamas infrastructure in Gaza City's Nasr and Zeitoun neighborhoods, but officials report nine Palestinians, including three children, were killed.

  • On Saturday, Israeli strikes in Gaza City killed at least nine Palestinians, including three children aged 8 to 18, said Mohammed Abu Selmiya, director of Shifa Hospital. An airstrike in the Nasr suburb killed five people, while artillery fire in Zeitoun killed three.
  • The ceasefire agreement brokered in October has failed to stop Israeli attacks, which continue on almost a daily basis. The Health Ministry reported 1,127 Palestinians killed and 3,643 injured since the pact was supposed to take effect on October 10.
  • Since the war began in October 2023, the death toll has reached 73,250 Palestinians. Almost all of Gaza's 2 million residents have been displaced multiple times and now live in makeshift camps and damaged buildings on a tiny strip along the coast.
  • The Israeli military stated it targeted Hamas infrastructure in the area. The Gaza Government Media Office criticized the international community, asking, "Where are the sponsors of the ceasefire agreement?" Hamas refuses to disarm until Israel withdraws its forces.
  • Israeli forces now control about 70 percent of Gaza's territory, expanding beyond the original ceasefire boundaries. Negotiations between Hamas and the Trump-backed Board remain at a standstill, with no resolution in sight.
