Israel-Iran Latest: Israel Strikes Iran’s Largest Nuclear Research Facility
- On June 20, 2025, Israel launched a follow-up round of airstrikes against key Iranian locations, including the major nuclear site in Isfahan and military facilities near Khondab and Shiraz.
- These strikes follow initial attacks on June 13 that hit nuclear and military infrastructure amid rising hostility after Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, which Israel links to Iranian funding and arming by Saeed Izadi.
- The airstrikes involved around 50 fighter jets, triggered Iran's air defenses, and Israeli officials say they struck missile launchers poised to fire at Israel, while IRGC confirmed five members died in the attacks.
- Defense Minister Katz called Izadi's killing a 'major success' and vowed 'justice for the murdered and the hostages,' while Iranian spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani affirmed Tehran's openness to dialogue but demanded recognition of Israel's attacks first.
- The strikes intensify the ongoing conflict, which has killed hundreds in Iran and led Iran to launch hundreds of missiles and drones toward Israel, signaling deepening hostilities with limited diplomatic progress.

For more than a week, locations of the Iranian nuclear program have been the target of Israeli attacks. Once again, the large research facility in the city of Isfahan is hit, as Israeli and Iranian sources consistently confirm. Local authorities give warning for the time being.
At night, Israel and Iran once again attack each other. Once again, the Israeli military is said to have killed people near distribution centers for humanitarian aid in Gaza.
