Iran and US agree to halt attacks and renew talks, Axios reports
The sides will meet in Doha to address the Strait of Hormuz dispute after days of strikes threatened the interim ceasefire.
Following recent hostilities, the United States and Iran agreed to halt attacks and resume negotiations on Tuesday in Doha, Qatar, to resolve disputes regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. military strikes targeted 10 military targets in Iran overnight, the second night in a row, following what it described as "continued Iranian aggression against commercial vessels" in the Gulf.
Iranian forces launched a drone hitting a tanker carrying more than 2 million barrels of crude oil, prompting United States strikes on surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, and air defense sites.
While The Revolutionary Guards warned that vessels violating instructions in the Strait of Hormuz would "experience hell," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claims exclusive management authority over the strait.
Originally scheduled for Switzerland, the talks in Doha will now focus on the Strait of Hormuz instead of Iran's nuclear program, shifting diplomatic priority after the latest escalation.
På söndagen ska USA och Iran ha kommit överens om att sluta attackra valandra, uppger amerikanska källtor för Axios. Nu väntar nya förhandlingar i Doha, där partena ska discutera situations i Hormuzsundet, enligt källorna.
