IPL 2027 auction set to return to India after three years: Report
Franchises raised logistics concerns after three overseas editions, and the host city will depend on hotel availability during India’s wedding season.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced Wednesday that the Women's Premier League 2027 auction will take place on October 28 in Kochi at the Grand Hyatt Kochi.
Scheduled from January 14 to February 7, 2027, the fifth edition of the WPL follows the player retention deadline on September 28, marking the league's calendar for the upcoming season.
With the September 28 player retention deadline approaching, five franchises will finalize squad retentions to solidify their core rosters before the October auction begins.
Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium will host WPL-2027 matches, while Vadodara and Varanasi remain under consideration as the second venue pending facility inspections.
India will host the inaugural Women's Champions Trophy from February 14 to 28, 2027, with matches at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and Vadodara International Cricket Stadium.
