India raises jet fuel, commercial LPG prices as Mideast crisis drives global surge

State fuel retailers cut the increase to protect domestic airlines, while commercial LPG prices still rose by more than 10%, officials said.

  • Indian public sector oil companies have more than doubled the price of aviation turbine fuel, with prices in New Delhi reaching Rs 207,341.22 per kiloliter.
  • The hike is due in part to the disrupted fuel supply chain in the Middle East, and partly due to the Indian rupee's worst performance in 14 years.
  • Indian Oil Corp. earlier today raised jet fuel prices for local airlines significantly, before cutting them sharply hours later, as the world's third-largest importer of crude grapples with the fallout of the Middle East war.
