- Mumbai-Based Ocean Grace Shipping Ltd owned the vessel, which carried 17 crew members including five Indian nationals; one additional Indian crew member remains critically injured following the strike.
- The MEA conveyed "unequivocal condemnation" of the attack, asserting that targeting commercial shipping is "unacceptable" and demanding Moscow ensure the safety and stability of international maritime commerce.
- Russia did not immediately respond to the incident, which mirrors previous maritime protests India lodged with the United States and Iran over seafarer losses.
