MORGAN COUNTY, Mo -- A man is dead after being hit by a race car at an Illinois dirt track. The Morgan County Coroner's Office confirms that the 65-year-old was struck in the infield by a winged sprint car that lost control during a race at the Jacksonville Speedway, which is about an hour and 45 minutes northeast of downtown St. Louis.
