Last night there was another fake distress call. It was a DSC from a Faroese fishing vessel that said it was in distress in the Mediterranean. However, it turned out to be a false distress call, MRCC confirmed after talking to the vessel, which was fishing west of the Faroe Islands. Last week there were false mayday calls on VHF channel 16.
