- The GST Council's reforms cut GST on small cars from 28% to 18%, while larger cars now face a 40% GST without the earlier additional cess, reshaping vehicle taxation.
- Among Hyundai models, the premium Hyundai Tucson receives the largest cut of up to Rs 2.40 lakh, while Hyundai i20, Venue, Verna, Creta, Alcazar, Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and Exter see reductions ranging from Rs 60,640 to Rs 1,23,659.
- Hyundai said the move will strengthen customer sentiment and accelerate festive-season sales, with Unsoo Kim calling it "a strong step towards empowering millions of customers."
- Other automakers also acted as Tata Motors Ltd. will pass the full GST reduction to commercial vehicle customers, Toyota Kirloskar Motor announced cuts up to Rs 3.49 lakh with Varinder Wadhwa saying `As a transparent and customer-centric company, we are pleased to pass on these benefits to our customers`, and Mahindra & Mahindra offers up to Rs 1.56 lakh benefits.
