- At the World Economic Forum in Davos, President Donald Trump proposed a Board of Peace with a broad mandate to address crises beyond Gaza, potentially rivaling the U.N. Security Council as dozens of world leaders gather.
- The panel was part of Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan that paused two years of war in October, increasing food aid but Gaza Strip still lacks central electricity and fuel for generators.
- On Tuesday, Shaza Abu Jarad was found dead from hypothermia in a tent in Gaza City’s Daraj neighborhood and pronounced dead at Al-Ahly hospital, the Health Ministry confirmed.
- Many countries, including Russia, said they received the invitation and were studying the proposal, while France declined to join at this stage amid questions over the Board of Peace’s membership and scope.
- The International Committee of the Red Cross warned that biting cold and rainfall threaten survival, as Gaza’s ninth child died from severe cold since October, amid Israel demolishing the U.N. agency's Jerusalem headquarters on Tuesday.
