Taina Elg, Finland’s first Hollywood actress and the only Finnish recipient of a Golden Globe for best actress, has died at the age of 95 in Helsinki. Her family confirmed that she passed away on 15 May in a care facility in the capital, where she had spent her final years. Born in Helsinki in 1930, Elg rose to international fame in the 1950s after signing a seven-year contract with the American film studio MGM.
