The minimum wage will certainly not increase by less than the forecast inflation, which is about 3 percent, said Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance. A statement was published on the MF website, which provided the exact amount by which the minimum wage may increase in 2026.
In recent years, the minimum wage has been rising significantly. It currently stands at PLN 4,666 gross. So far, there have been voices saying that the Ministry of Finance was willing to raise the lowest wage by just a few zlotys. The head of the ministry indicated that the increases should be greater, but the minimum wage may not exceed the round limit.
A dispute has broken out between coalition partners over the minimum wage. The Ministry of Finance wants to give a PLN 4.70 increase. "I think the image effect, even if it is a working proposal, is terrible," assessed Andrzej Szeptycki from Poland 2050.
The minimum wage could increase to PLN 4,806, Finance Minister Andrzej Domański told Polsat News. He explained that the increase would not be lower than the forecast inflation, which would be around 3 percent. Domański also denied reports that the increase in the minimum wage would be significantly lower.
