European Union member states have submitted national defense plans under a new security initiative, with fifteen countries including substantial support for Ukraine in their proposals. The plans are part of a broader €150 billion fund designed to enhance Europe's defense capabilities and industrial sustainability.
All 19 countries that previously applied for a loan from the new financial instrument, SAFE (Security Action for Europe), have submitted their national defense investment plans. This was announced by Defense Commissioner Andrius Kubilius on the social network X. A total of 15 of them, according to Kubilius, also included support for Ukraine in their plan.
