Video reveals damage from fire on US aircraft carrier after sources say fire control system failed: CNN
CNN video shows charred bunks and burned wiring after a laundry-area fire left roughly 600 sailors without sleeping quarters, Navy officials said.
New video obtained by CNN reveals severe damage to the USS Gerald R. Ford from a March fire, contradicting Navy claims that the blaze was "contained" and the ship remained "fully operational."
The ship's built-in fire-suppression system failed to function, forcing crew members to manually combat the blaze for 30 hours while roughly 600 sailors lost access to their bunks.

The Ford faces an extended maintenance phase for fire-related repairs, with one US official noting that other ships may be required to fill the operational gap during this period.
