Epstein Commission Seeks Records From FAA, DOJ and Banks
The commission is seeking flight logs, bank records and documents on why a 2019 investigation was halted, with two federal agencies still silent.
On Friday, New Mexico's Epstein Truth Commission issued 20 subpoenas to local, state, and federal agencies investigating Jeffrey Epstein, though the FAA and USDOJ have not yet responded to requests regarding flight logs.
State Rep. Andrea Romero is investigating why a 2019 New Mexico investigation was halted after former New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas stated earlier this year he was instructed to stand down on the case.
Subpoenas were also issued to Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase with response deadlines set for July 17, while the New Mexico State Records Center and Archives provided 132 documents related to Governor Bill Richardson's relationship with Epstein.
Romero said the commission is looking for "specific information" regarding flight logs at Zorro Ranch, with an interim report planned for July 31 to release findings gathered so far.
The DOJ reported it substantively responded last month to New Mexico's requests and stands ready to assist further, though the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York has not yet replied to its subpoena.
