The newly appointed Deputy Minister of Culture of Lithuania, Aleksandras Brokas, resigned less than a week after his appointment, after a video of his call to Belarus from a year and a half ago, allegedly to a representative of the Lukashenko administration, surfaced on social media.
On Friday, Deputy Minister of Culture Aleksandras Brokas announced on social media that he was resigning from his position as Deputy Minister of Culture. He said that he made the decision out of a sense of responsibility, but also alluded to the reputational attack against him and the entire "idea of culture."
