Danish Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus announced on Tuesday that recruits will be deployed in Greenland, an autonomous Danish territory coveted by US President Donald Trump, reports AFP on Wednesday, according to Agerpres.
Denmark to station conscripts in Greenland
Denmark will also deploy conscripts to Greenland, with the first group set to leave at the end of July, Danish Defense Minister Jeppe Bruus announced on Tuesday. The administration of US President Donald Trump has recently expressed interest in bringing the world's largest island, which is an autonomous territory of Denmark, under US administration. The Danish military has already strengthened its presence in the Arctic region in response.

Denmark has about 300 professional soldiers in Greenland. The conscripts are stationed in the same units.
