- In Congress, Democrats have initiated a discharge petition to force a vote overturning the order, noting that every Democrat and two Republicans have signed it.
- On March 27, President Donald Trump issued an order stripping rights from over a million federal workers, removing bargaining for 75% under a false national security premise.
- Despite their rarity, discharge petitions, Golden noted, `Discharge petitions are rarely successful`, demonstrating limited success in Congress.
- In response, National Nurses United, representing over 225,000 nurses, applauded the move to use a discharge petition and said `we urge quick action`.
