The first-floor debris has reportedly been cleared, with rescue teams now focusing on the basement area. Nearby buildings have also been evacuated amid concerns over structural stability, while authorities have begun identifying other potentially dangerous structures. The tragedy has renewed concerns over unauthorised construction, basement excavation, structural audits, building permissions and enforcement of safety regulations in Delhi. The incident has also intensified questions over civic accountability and whether timely inspections and preventive action could have avoided the disaster. Authorities are expected to investigate the construction history, permissions and possible negligence linked to the Satya Niketan building collapse.
