Church Point detention pond project to reduce flooding advances

CHURCH POINT, La. (KLFY) -- City leaders acknowledge efforts to solve flood problems with progress on the construction of a detention pond. Mayor Ryan "Spanky" Meche said mostly district four and five areas flood and most of the town’s water goes to Plaquemine Bayou which is a canal that is not acceptable for a whole lot of water.
