The first container ship to sail to Europe via the Arctic has departed from the Chinese port of Ningbo-Zhoushan, Yicai Global reported. The new route, which passes through the Northern Sea Route, cuts shipping times by more than half compared to traditional maritime routes. It also avoids regions prone to piracy and political instability.
