Suspect, 17, arrested for Thursday’s shooting death in Chicopee; victim, 21, identified as West Springfield man

SPRINGFIELD — A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested and arraigned in the shooting death of a West Springfield man on Thursday, the Hampden District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.The DA’s office identified the suspect as Jayshawn Kempton of Chicopee. On Friday, he was arraigned on charges of murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
