CASTROVILLE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A man from Castroville was arrested after a search warrant during a traffic stop on Wednesday afternoon. According to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, the traffic stop happened at 12:24 p.m. near Merrit Street as they stopped the driver, 23-year-old Jesus Rivas Arias, for vehicle code violations. Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Castroville man Wednesday during a car stop for possession of a stolen handgun and a half pound of methamphetamine. Around 12:24pm a deputy conducted a car stop for vehicle code violations in the 10700 block of Merritt Street in Castroville.
