Brook Park resident loses $590 in debt scam

BROOK PARK, Ohio -- A Sylvia resident reported Oct. 1 that he was tricked into giving his personal information to someone who then withdrew money from his bank account.The man said an unidentified person called him July 17 and said he owed money on an old credit card. The scammer told the man that if he didn’t pay the debt, he would receive a summons to appear in court.
