Brendan Fraser Asks 'Mummy' Fans to 'Wish Me Luck' as He Gets in Shape for New Movie
Fraser says he is getting back in shape for the Universal sequel as the studio reunites the original stars after two earlier films.
Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz will reprise their iconic roles in The Mummy 4, with Universal planning to release the long-anticipated sequel in theatres on May 19, 2028.
Fraser starred in the original The Mummy and The Mummy Returns alongside Weisz, reconnecting with his adventurer character Rick after 20 years away from the franchise.
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Fraser confirmed he is "doing my best" to get in shape for the sequel. "We're going to get the band back together," he told Fallon.
Radio Silence directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will helm the project, working from a script by David Coggeshall to blend adventure and horror elements.
This new production follows the critical disappointment of That Tom Cruise-starring The Mummy, which prompted Universal to scrap its planned Dark Universe of monsters.
