Semi-Truck Driver Sentenced to 4 Years for Fatal 10 Freeway Crash in Ontario
Singh pleaded guilty to three counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence after an eight-vehicle collision killed three people.
On Tuesday, 21-year-old Yuba City semi-truck driver Jashanpreet Singh received a four-year, eight-month prison sentence for a deadly eight-vehicle crash on the I-10 Freeway in Ontario that killed three people last year.
The Oct. 21, 2025, collision occurred as traffic slowed near the I-10 Freeway's interchange with the 15 Freeway, when Singh failed to brake and plowed into stopped vehicles, causing a violent chain reaction.
Prosecutors introduced dashcam footage showing the semi-truck traveling at high speed into traffic; Singh pleaded guilty in June to three felony counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
The Department of Homeland Security claims Singh is undocumented, though California officials dispute this, citing federal approval of his Employment Authorization Documents and REAL ID.
Among the three fatalities were former Pomona High School assistant basketball coach Clarence Nelson and his wife, Lisa, whose deaths prompted widespread local mourning following the violent collision.
