Lawyers for detainees see in these comments a 'flagrant approval' of practices of inhuman treatment, abuse and intimidation.
Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared this Sunday “proud” that the detainees of the international flotilla that Israel intercepted last Wednesday when it was about to break the blockade on Gaza have been treated as “terrorists” in prison where they have spent these days. Ben Gvir’s comments have arrived shortly after the Israeli government denied allegations of ill-treatment of detained crew members.
The ultra-rightist Israeli minister of national security, Itamar Ben Gvir, referred this Sunday to the allegations about the conditions of detention of the activists of the Flotilla Sumud, declaring that "anyone who supports terrorism is a terrorist and deserves terrorist conditions."
Hundreds of activists who participated in the "Somod" flotilla said they were put in cells with only beds and toilets. They claim that the Minister of National Security entered the cells and shouted at them that they were supporters of terrorism and were in the terrorist prison as they deserved.
