Barbie Joins Women's Hockey Team With Assist From Tim Hortons
CANADA, AUG 7 – Proceeds from each $34.99 doll support The Grindstone Award Foundation, helping female hockey players under 19 overcome financial barriers in Canada.
- On Thursday, the Professional Women’s Hockey League announced a collaboration with Barbie and Tim Hortons to release dolls featuring the league’s emblem and colors.
- Prior to this collaboration, Barbie had partnered with the PWHL since its launch and in 2020, Tim Hortons and Barbie first honored women’s hockey with a limited doll release.
- Each doll features a PWHL/Tim Hortons hockey sweater, stick, helmet and skates, costing $34.99 CDN with $5 CDN donated to The Grindstone Award Foundation.
- The PWHL will match donations for dolls purchased through its online store, while Tim Hortons supports 100,000 youth hockey players annually via Timbits Hockey.
- Starting Aug. 8, fans can order at TimShop.ca, shop.thepwhl.ca, and shop.thepwhl.com, with in-store availability at Tim Hortons in Canada from Aug. 11.
