- The search for a CEO comes as a Special Investigation Team probes alleged embezzlement of donations, prompting the Trust to strengthen its administrative structure and ensure smooth temple operations.
- Applicants must be active followers of the Hindu faith, hold a graduate degree, and possess at least 20 years of managerial experience; the three-year contractual appointment requires the selected candidate to reside in Ayodhya.
- A three-member panel including retired Supreme Court judge Justice Pramod Kohli, retired lieutenant general Vishnukant Chaturvedi, and former NIT Raipur chairperson Suresh Haware will scrutinize candidates; "the primary responsibility of the CEO will be to uphold the faith of devotees in the trust," Mishra said.
- The Vishva Hindu Parishad has argued that the selection should remain independent of government influence, objecting to suggestions that the post must be filled by a retired bureaucrat rather than a candidate chosen by the Trust.
