On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers approved a royal decree drawn up by the Ministry of Social Rights, which guarantees persons with disabilities who need assistance dogs access with them to public and private places for public use anywhere in Spain. This legislation complements the existing legislation in each autonomous community and seeks to eliminate any disparities that may exist and that affect the rights of both people and animals.

The measure will benefit those who need these animals, such as people with disabilities, with autistic spectrum disorder or victims of gender-based violence. These dogs will be allowed access to beaches, swimming pools and water parks, provided they do not enter the water

The Council of Ministers has adopted a decree that will allow them access to spaces vetoed so far.
