KIEV - Like thousands of other senior citizens in Ukraine, Zinaida Hyrenkova spent the autumn of her life in a retirement home. Her pension was cut short by the Russian invasion. Her memory is somewhat hazy, but she remembers clearly the moment when Russia attacked her village in the northeast of the country, knocking her to the ground.
