AI will replace car stylists in a decade: Mercedes design chief

Artificial intelligence could render manufacturers' automotive design department obsolete within the next 10 years—at least, that's what Mercedes-Benz’s Chief Design Officer, Gorden Wagener, believes. Speaking at an event for the Mercedes-Benz Places development in Miami, Wagener said his eventual successor could be a machine that costs less than his current salary, and won’t require vacation time.
