India AI Impact Summit 2026: Pioneering Global AI Cooperation in the Global South
The five-day event features over 3,000 speakers and 300 exhibitions to promote human-centric AI and global cooperation, marking the first summit hosted in the Global South.
- On Monday , Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the five-day India AI Impact Summit 2026 at the Bharat Mandapam complex in New Delhi, opening with the India AI Impact Expo 2026.
- Framed around the theme `Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya`, the summit aims to harness AI for human-centric progress, and Modi welcomed world leaders, captains of industry, innovators, policymakers, researchers and tech enthusiasts.
- Organizers say the expo will include more than 3,000 speakers, over 500 sessions, more than 300 exhibitions, pavilions from 13 other countries, and hopes for more than 2.5 lakh visitors.
- Officials noted the summit's first-time Global South hosting, with the U.K. delegation led by U.K. Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy and AI Minister Kanishka Narayan describing it as `an important moment` to unlock AI benefits with international partners.
- Ahead of the summit and overlapping CBSE exams starting Tuesday, Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory restricting movement on Bhairon Marg and central roads excluding Ring Road T-Point and Mathura Road.
