Abhishek Sharma hits 100 T20I sixes, becomes fifth Indian to achieve feat
The left-hander reached the mark in 785 balls and became the fifth Indian to hit 100 T20I sixes.
On Wednesday, July 1, Indian opener Abhishek Sharma became the fastest batter to smash 100 T20I sixes during the first match between India and England at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.
The left-hander from Punjab reached the landmark in 785 deliveries, surpassing the previous world record of 789 balls held by West Indies player Evin Lewis.
Against England's bowlers, Abhishek blasted 59 runs off 24 deliveries, with his innings including four massive sixes during the explosive knock.
Joining an elite group of Indians, Abhishek reached 100 T20I sixes alongside T20 World Cup 2024-winning captain Rohit Sharma , Suryakumar Yadav , Hardik Pandya , and Virat Kohli .
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi holds the overall T20 record, reaching 100 sixes in 515 deliveries during his record-breaking 2026 IPL season with the Rajasthan Royals.
