‘Where Is He?’ AAP Claims Delhi Police 'Picked' Its MLA Kuldeep Kumar, Delhi HC Agrees for Urgent Hearing
AAP said police took Kuldeep Kumar after he backed sanitation workers demanding Rs 1 crore compensation and a job for a victim’s family.
On Tuesday, the Aam Aadmi Party alleged that Delhi Police took East Delhi MLA Kuldeep Kumar from his residence at 4 a.m. and transported him to an "undisclosed location."
Kumar had been actively supporting sanitation workers protesting the killing of Anil, an on-duty worker in Kalyanpuri, who demanded ₹1 crore in compensation and a permanent government job.
Around 20 plainclothes officers allegedly arrived at Kumar's residence, broke CCTV cameras, and seized the DVR, an operation AAP leaders described as "kidnapping."
At 2 p.m., AAP leader Atishi announced the party will file a habeas corpus petition in the Delhi High Court, alleging police are "forcibly performing the cremation" of the deceased worker.
Questioning the MLA's whereabouts, PTI AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated, "This country will not tolerate such thuggery from you," demanding accountability for the police action.
