In 2022 the United States is holding Gubernatorial elections for 39 of the 50 seats. Currently there are 28 Republican and 22 Democratic governors. Republican governors Asa Hutchinson (Arkansas), Doug Ducey (Arizona), Larry Hogan (Maryland), Charlie Baker (Massachusetts), Pete Ricketts (Nebraska) and Democratic governors David Ige (Hawaii), Kate Brown (Oregon), Tom Wolf (Pennsylvania) are not seeking re-election due either to term limits or they are retirning. States to watch closely are: Arizona, Georgia, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The 2022 United States Senate Elections are also taking place at the same time and both will be held on November 8, 2022.
