According to the Zurich State Institute, the canton of Central Switzerland is now one of the best debtor categories. For Vaud, Geneva and the Aargau, the rating outlook has changed. Although the forecast is subject to considerable uncertainties, the cantons are expected to launch more bonds in the coming years in order to satisfy their growing appetite for capital.

According to the Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB), the central Swiss canton of Lucerne now belongs to the highest debtor category. The outlook has also changed for the cantons of Vaud, Geneva, and Aargau. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the forecast, the cantons are expected to increasingly issue bonds in the coming years to meet their growing capital needs.
