Hennadiy Trukhanov, Odesa’s Embattled, Lightning-Rod Mayor, Denies Russian Citizenship Claims
- President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree on Wednesday placing Odesa under military administration and appointing intelligence general Serhii Lysak, relieving him of his Dnipropetrovsk post.
- Following SBU reports, President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday revoked Gennadiy Trukhanov's Ukrainian citizenship after the Security Service of Ukraine alleged a 2015 Russian passport.
- Speaking on October 15, Gennadiy Trukhanov denied the allegations, called the Security Service of Ukraine passport photograph a fake, and said he will sue.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has placed the city of Odessa under military administration following a dispute with Mayor Gennady Trukhanov. He has appointed Secret Service General Serhiy Lysak as head of the military administration. Zelensky stripped Trukhanov, who is also believed to hold a Russian passport, of his Ukrainian citizenship on Tuesday.
