The first hearing of the lawsuit filed to cancel the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress was held. The lawyer of the plaintiff Lütfü Savaş announced that the hearing was postponed and that they will file a new lawsuit regarding the extraordinary congress.

Turkey’s Supreme Election Board (YSK) has rejected an appeal to annul an extraordinary congress held by the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) earlier this month, during which party leader Özgür Özel was re-elected, the Anka news agency reported.

The Supreme Election Council (YSK) rejected the application to cancel the CHP’s 21st Extraordinary Congress held on April 6, 2025.

The Supreme Electoral Council (YSK) rejected the CHP's application for annulment of the 21st Extraordinary Assembly held on April 6, 2025. The CHP had appealed to the YSK with allegations of irregularities in the assembly process. However, the YSK did not find the cancellation request in place as a result of the reviews carried out and the board ruled that it was valid.
