Water Bills to Rise Again: Use Our Tool to Find Out by How Much
The 5.6% bill rise funds an £8.3bn plan including mains replacement and smart meters, benefiting 2.5 million households with an average 40% discount, says Yorkshire Water.

- Customers can access support schemes and advice on metering via the company website or helpline, after Yorkshire Water replaced over 120km of mains and installed more than 100,000 smart meters last year.
- Across England and Wales household bills will rise by an average of 5.4%, while the Consumer Council for Water said complaints rose 51% in 2025 and warned further rises will worsen affordability worries.
- Ofwat interim chief executive Chris Walters commented that by April 2027, more than eight million meters will be installed, almost 3,000km of piping replaced, and support will expand to an extra 300,000 households.
