Mesker Park Zoo puts its tortoises on display
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- Mesker Park Zoo in Evansville moved its tortoises outside for the season. Zoo officials say they weighed all the tortoises and put them on display. African spurred tortoises can go weeks without food or water. Experts say they can drink up to 15 percent of their body weight when they find a water source. They can also live up to 100 years old. Mesker Park Zoo is open all year long.
