When Bruce was bitten by a taipan as a child, his life was saved thanks to a reptile enthusiast who paid the ultimate price

Summary by Ground News
Bruce Stringer was just 10 years old when he was bitten by a taipan in Cairns. The snake is one of the world's most dangerous and venomous snakes. Its venom works fast, attacking the heart, the blood stream and the nervous system. The high death rate among farmers, children and livestock was causing a veritable hysteria and so began the frantic search for an antivenom for the lightning fast, hooded-eyed snake. Sydney reptile hobbyist Kevin Budden is credited as the man who led the development of a taipan antivenom, but he paid the ultimate price for it.
