In Germany, real wages are rising slowly, while the purchasing power of employees has been growing for eight quarters. Nominal wages rose by 3.6 percent, while consumer prices rose by 2.3 percent.

Nominal wages in Germany were 3.6 percent higher in the first quarter of 2025 than in the same quarter of the previous year. This is the weakest increase since 2022. Consumer prices rose by 2.3 percent during the same period.
