Watch debut of It prequel series, Welcome to Derry on Sling with HBO Max
The horror-drama series explores Pennywise's origins and the town's cursed history in the 1960s with eight episodes releasing weekly on Sling and HBO Max.
- On Sunday, October 26, 'It: Welcome to Derry' premiered on Sling via the HBO Max add-on, available to stream with HBO Max starting that day.
- Based on Stephen King's novel 'It', the series explores Pennywise's origins in the 1960s and jumps back 27 years to 1962, depicting an earlier cycle of terror in Derry, Maine.
- Bill Skarsgård returns as Pennywise while the cast includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe and Rudy Mancuso.
- The first season will run eight episodes, released weekly on Sundays, ending with a finale on Sunday, Dec. 14, and the Sling HBO Max bundle allows streaming on four devices simultaneously.
- Behind the scares, Pennywise is framed as a cosmic entity from The Macroverse, and producers have planned interludes documenting Derry's past as separate seasons for franchise expansion.
