Park opens to public along Chula Vista bayfront

The highly anticipated Sweetwater Park on the Chula Vista bayfront is now open to the public after a grand celebration was held on April 3. The grand opening of this park, part of the Chula Vista Bayfront redevelopment project, included attendants from the Port of San Diego, City of Chula Vista, project partners, community members, and Chula Vista Elementary School District students. Walking the main trail at new Sweetwater Park!

The new Sweetwater Park in Chula Vista opened early this month. Many people have already explored its nature trails. I did so, too, a few days ago. One trail runs the length of the park on its west side, nearest San Diego Bay. It offers benches and blinds from which one can view bird activity in a wide expanse of native coastal vegetation.
