Edam-Volendam can continue with the development of a district with 1160 homes in a pasture area on the edge of the municipality. The Provincial States of North Holland voted by a large majority in favor of an exemption to build in a protected landscape. The municipality is still in talks with the developers but has completed the business case, according to deputy Esther Rommel.
