VA establishes a food pantry program for public universities
Governor Glenn Youngkin agreed with Virginia's lawmakers' plan to create the Food Pantry Grant Program on Hungerless Campus to provide food to college students at no cost, and signed the bill on Monday. Senate Bill 1016 and House Bill 2240, sponsored by Senator Danica Roem, D-Manassas, and Del. Rae Cousins, D-Richmond, initiated the program, allocating $500,000 to support food pantry to eligible public and private non-profit universities.
