The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is steadily working through a series of levee projects for the southern end of Plaquemines Parish that will majorly improve flood protection in the area. And while this is certainly good news for the parish, local government officials harbor concerns and questions about how these levee projects will impact one of the largest threats to the parish: FEMA flood insurance regulations.
