According to media reports, the Americans will not join a war between Israel and Iran unless they are attacked. "The Iranians are very careful not to do anything that could push the US into involvement," said one Arab official.
On Sunday, the United States sent a message to several of its allies in the region that if Iran does not cross President Trump's red line, the United States will not attack it, according to two sources. The United States expects these countries to convey the message to Iran, to deter it from acting against American forces or interests in the region.
The Trump administration informed several U.S. countries on Sunday that it did not plan to actively intervene in the war between Israel and Iran if Iran did not attack the Americans. Two sources in the States that received this message told Axios about this. The United States helped Israel intercept missiles, but made it clear that Israel was attacking Iran on its own.
